Communications Manager

DVAA is seeking creative and innovative candidates for the regular part-time position of Communications Manager

The Communications Manager is a core member within the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance’s (DVAA) team and plays a vital part in advancing DVAA’s mission, to advance and encourage arts in the region through support of artists and performers with year-round presenting opportunities and of other local arts organizations and arts activities through arts resources including funding and advocacy.

In helping to shape and implement DVAA’s communication strategies, you will work to effectively promote our programs, resources, and fundraising initiatives. You’ll be empowered to employ a range of tools to ensure DVAAs offerings are communicated across an array of media platforms to diverse and far-reaching audiences.

As the primary manager and contact person for DVAA’s regrant and scholarship programs, the Grants Coordinator is responsible for:

In addition, the Coordinator administers two regional scholarships – the Bodenstein Scholarship for Achievement in Music and the Stanley Segal Scholarship for the Visual Arts.

Founded in 1976, DVAA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization. Located in Narrowsburg, NY, DVAA supports artists and arts organizations in the Upper Delaware Valley and throughout Sullivan County, NY. DVAA presents engaging programs in the visual, performing, literary, and media arts. Through year-round exhibitions and performances in the Tusten Theatre and Krause Hall as well as popular annual community arts events including the Big Eddy Film Festival and Riverfest, DVAA provides access and exposure to the arts amidst engaged and passionate audiences. As the Arts Council of Sullivan County, DVAA is committed to advocating on behalf of and strengthening the County’s cultural community.

Schedule

This is a two-day/16 hour a week position with two weeks of additional days budgeted for key projects and events.

 

The position is performed on site at DVAA’s 37 Main Street location where safety guidelines pertaining to COVID-19 are followed. DVAA maintains a virtual work environment to accommodate for interruption of in-person workplace. 


Staff receives a paid week off between Christmas and New Year’s Day and two paid sick days. DVAA maintains a virtual work environment to accommodate for interruption of in-person workplace.

Flex time is additionally offered to meet key deadlines and/or provide support at essential public events.
