Communications & Grants Director

DVAA is seeking dynamic candidates for the regular full-time position of Communications & Grants Director

The Communications & Grants Director is a newly established position, which brings together two existing and exciting portfolios within the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance’s (DVAA) team. By combining these previously separate roles, we look forward to amplifying DVAA’s greatest resource and strengthening the support structure within which we fulfill DVAA’s mission.

In shaping and implementing DVAA’s communication strategies, you will work to effectively promote our programs, resources, and fundraising initiatives. You’ll be empowered to employ a range of tools to ensure DVAAs offerings are communicated across an array of media platforms to diverse and far-reaching audiences.

As the administrator of DVAA’s two re-grantmaking programs in Sullivan County – Arts for Sullivan and the Sullivan County Arts and Heritage Grants program  – you will actively engaging with artists and arts organizations across Sullivan County to cultivate a diverse pool of applicants and ensure an equitable and inclusive grant review process.

Additionally, you will coordinate DVAA’s “Technical Assistance” offerings which serve to support artists and the cultural community of our region and provide access to best practices; and two donor-funded scholarships for graduating high school students.

In addition, the Coordinator administers two regional scholarships – the Bodenstein Scholarship for Achievement in Music and the Stanley Segal Scholarship for the Visual Arts.

Founded in 1976, DVAA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization. Located in Narrowsburg, NY, DVAA supports artists and arts organizations in the Upper Delaware Valley and throughout Sullivan County, NY. DVAA presents engaging programs in the visual, performing, literary, and media arts. Through year-round exhibitions and performances in the Tusten Theatre and Krause Hall as well as popular annual community arts events including the Big Eddy Film Festival and Riverfest, DVAA provides access and exposure to the arts amidst engaged and passionate audiences. As the Arts Council of Sullivan County, DVAA is committed to advocating on behalf of and strengthening the County’s cultural community.

Schedule

This is a five-day/40-hour a week salaried position.

The position is performed on site at DVAA’s 37 Main Street location where safety guidelines pertaining to COVID-19 are followed. DVAA maintains a virtual work environment to accommodate for interruption of in-person workplace.  

Flex time is additionally offered to meet key deadlines and/or provide support at essential public events.

An annual salary of $45,000 – $48,000, commensurate with experience.


In their first year, full-time staff receive one week of paid personal vacation time (following an initial 90-day probation period), a paid week off between Christmas and New Year’s Day in addition to federal and observed holidays, and three paid sick days.
