In the Loft Gallery, Warren Pardi (Barryville, NY) presents “The Curvilinear Form,” a collection of sculptural furniture and objects full of bends, twists and turns. Pardi’s work is a celebration of nature’s elegance, as he skillfully crafts curvilinear shapes from a diverse range of wood species.
Pardi has exhibited his work extensively since the 1970s, garnering recognition for his exploration of organic forms and innovative construction methods. His furniture sculptures, inspired by the art nouveau tradition and the natural sciences, invite viewers to contemplate the harmony of form and function.
Warren Pardi’s work explores the beauty and energy of the world through the use of diverse wood species and innovative techniques like bent wood lamination and vacuum forming. With a background in technology education and wood technology, Pardi holds an MA in biological anthropology and has studied painted finishes at Pratt University.
His pieces, such as the ‘Womb Chair’ and recent works like ‘Duality’ and ‘Flowing Brook,’ reflect a blend of unpredictability and non-linearity inspired by nature.
Pardi’s award-winning designs have been showcased in major exhibits and galleries, earning recognition from institutions like the Sands Point Museum and the American Craft Council. Working from his studio in Barryville, NY, Pardi continues to push the boundaries of curvilinear forms, celebrating nature’s medium – wood.
