The Shape of Paper, is a group show featuring a collective of interdisciplinary, Mid-Hudson artists, who are pushing the boundaries of paper, pulp, and fiber.
The works on view range from installation, sculpture, fiber, and metal, to more seemingly traditional works on paper. The exhibition features handmade paper being interpreted and reinvented through mix-media and multi-dimensional processes.
Artists in the collective include Xuewu Zheng who creates paper sculptures and installations, Maggie Oakes who works on paper and creates installations, Hayoon Jay Lee who works with rice paper and creates dimensional work, Emilie Houssart who creates paper sculptures and installations, Jamie Scherzer who works with jewelry and metal-based materials combined with paper and Sariah Park who works with paper, fiber and soft sculptures.
