PETER MASLOW | The Gowanus Cochecton Expressway

Sep 26, 2020 - Nov 30, 2020

A native Brooklynite, Peter Maslow creates large format paintings that have traditionally explored urban architectural environments.

“What interests me is how we see things, how we generate whole images in our minds, how we put and keep things together.”

In 2017, Maslow moved out of the city to Cochecton, NY along the Upper Delaware River. “My first summer in Cochecton, I went swimming under Cochecton Bridge and the elevated green painted steel took me back to my youth, where most adventures began under an overpass, or an El, or beneath the bridges,” Maslow recalls.

All but one of the paintings in “The Gowanus Cochecton Expressway” exhibition, were created in Maslow’s Cochecton studio.
