MACYN BOLT | Slow Shift

Sep 24, 2021 - Oct 31, 2021
Qualities of reflection, mirroring and contrasting spatial perspectives are at the heart of my artistic endeavors.

By engaging the dramatic and subtle properties of color, open and closed forms, and interlocking shapes, I attempt give voice to the complex, often contradictory nature of spatial comprehension. The paintings’ reductive geometric imagery initiates a crosscurrent of subtle, rhythmic undulation while layers beneath are echoed on the surface. Each finished work is experienced in the stillness of a moment and gradually reveals a visual riddle that’s never fully solved.
