Carpenter’s paintings on birch panel capture a sense of place, a moment. They offer viewers a pause to gather a thought or ruminate on a feeling, to create space before life interrupts.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Jenny Carpenter paints on wood panels using the grain to manipulate the figure. Her interest is in the life led rather than a physical representation. Jenny has exhibited her work at places such as: ArtPort Kingston (Kingston, NY), Foley Gallery (NYC), Equity Gallery (NYC), UCONN Avery Point, Groton, CT, The Catskill Art Society at the Laundry King (Livingston Manor, NY), LABspace (Hillsdale, NY), The Danforth Art Museum (Framingham, MA), Gallery 72 (Omaha NE), among other venues. Her work is in the permanent collection at The Danforth Art Museum, Framingham, MA and North Hill, Needham, MA. Originally from the great Midwest, she graduated from Creighton University with a BA in Studio Art. Jenny has lived in and traveled to many destinations throughout the world, such as Australia, Madagascar, Namibia,Thailand, Turkey, Ireland — always Ireland — before calling New York home. Jenny lives in Cold Spring, NY with her husband and 14-year-old boys.
