‘Tis the Season for Sixes!
The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance in Narrowsburg is humming with activity as we install hundreds of 6-inch artworks for our annual small works group exhibition, “Art in Sixes.” The exhibit opens Saturday, November 19th, and runs through Friday, December 23rd.
This year’s ‘Sixes’ will showcase over 150 artists of all ages. Local well-known artists exhibit alongside community members, creating a vibrant show that takes over two floors of DVAA. With over 500 pieces to see, you don’t want to miss the most talked about small works show in the Catskills!
Buyable. Giftable. Collectible.
Whether you are an art connoisseur, a browser, a collector, or looking for that perfect gift, “Art in Sixes” is sure to delight and surprise with original artworks in all media —no reproductions are accepted. This year’s ‘Sixes’ features paintings, photographs, sculptures, ceramics, woodwork, fiber arts, collage, and a few surprises. Each artwork is 6-inches or less in any direction and ready to hang. Prices generally range from $60 to $600. The sale of artwork benefits artists directly and helps to keep the lights on at DVAA.
Opening Reception, Saturday, November 19th, 3pm – 6 pm
With so many collectible artists on display, the “Art in Sixes” opening reception is quite the party. In-the-know collectors scoop up pieces while perusing the gridded walls in search of their next favorite artist. The local arts community gathers and supports their fellow artists over wine and food. Patrons line up to make purchases and claim artworks with a simple red dot marking SOLD.
This year DVAA extended the invitation to local school districts to participate in Art in Sixes. Students were offered free 6-inch canvas boards in what will surely become a yearly tradition.
“Art in Sixes” takes place at the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, 37 Main Street, Narrowsburg, NY. The exhibit runs from Saturday, November 19th, through December 23rd. Gallery hours are Wednesday – Sunday, 11 am – 4 pm. Closed Thanksgiving Day.
The activities of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance are made possible in part by a grant from the New York State Council on the Arts with support from the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
