Transforma Theatre – Public Workshop: Media & Tech Literacy

Returning to NACL again after their 2023 residency, Transforma Theatre (NYC) will spend two weeks working on a new performance on the topic of Artificial Intelligence. Transforma is dedicated to creating interactive theatrical experiences at the nexus of science, consciousness, and ritual.

In tandem with their new performance they are creating a workshop to allow people to become more familiar with the technology that is so frequently making headlines today. This workshop will create a highly participatory and playful modality — encouraging personal curiosity, agency, and investigation — around the sometimes scary, often misunderstood, and easily hyped topic of Artificial Intelligence.

As part of the workshop, participants will interact with GPT-4 via an avatar, so that they can ask it questions directly. There will also be a guided tour through a few different contemporary AI tools. NACL audience members will play an important role in helping the company shape the future of their pilot workshop.
