Trans-Parent Love: Boys Will Be Girls
DVAA CELEBRATES PRIDE!
Join DVAA at the Tusten Theatre on Saturday, June 25th, at 7:30 PM for a performance of Trans-Parent Love: Boys Will be Girls, by Maureen Muldoon. This heartfelt and hilarious one-woman show travels the journey of coming out as transgender from the point of view of the mother of a transgender child. It takes us through the fears and feelings that arrive when life takes a U-turn.
The show delves into the questions, concerns, and confessions that can rattle the cage but ultimately set us all free. And it shows us that we can actually handle the truth, and maybe even begin to tell our own as well.
The goal of Trans-Parent Love is to promote conversations that help people talk about the questions, concerns, and commonalities we have with each other. In our current culture, our children are leading a revolution of honesty, bravery, and transparency that is both beautiful and baffling for parents and family members. A discussion is held after the show where a panel of parents can share their stories. Trans-Parent Love is Maureen Muldoon’s story of how she processed her child’s coming out as trans.
