The Ripple Effect at Rivoli Theatre
Friday, July 12 – Sullivan County Dramatic Workshop presents, live on stage, the comedy “Ripple Effect” at the Rivoli Theatre, South Fallsburg, 8:00pm.
Amy and Jeff are desperate to be pregnant. The young couple are willing to try anything from the latest scientific procedures to old wife’s tales to ancient Wiccan rituals. They’ve been pregnant before, unsuccessfully, and if they get pregnant again they will do literally anything to stay pregnant and have the baby they want so badly. Crowded into their small New York City studio apartment, their tremendous efforts only get even funnier as they careen towards parenthood and that it means.
Meanwhile, their cross-the-hall neighbor carries a secret that no one should have to bear alone, and yet she does. And all the time rooting in her own inimitable way for Amy and Jeff to fulfill their dream.
Originally written by life-long New Yorker Arianna Rose as a short play, Ms. Rose has fleshed out the characters and given us an hilarious look at pregnancy in the modern age.
“The Ripple Effect” by Arianna Rose premieres July 12 at 8 PM at the Rivoli Theatre in South Fallsburg and continues through July 21 with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2 P. F
Tickets on-line www.scdw.net or at the box office.
