SCDW Present The Wizard of Oz

Follow the yellow brick road in this delightful stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale, featuring the iconic musical score from the MGM film. The timeless tale, in which young Dorothy Gale travels from Kansas over the rainbow to the magical land of oz, continues to thrill audiences worldwide. The MGM film “The Wizard of OZ” adapted from Baum’s 1900 novel, premiered at Graumann’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood on August 15, 1939. This stage adaptation, presented by the Royal Shakespeare Company, premiered at the Barbican Centre in London on December 17, 1987. The cast included Jim Carter (Mr. Carson of Downton Abbey fame) as the Cowardly Lion.

Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, and the Cowardly Lion make the journey to see the Wizard, all needing something from the Wizard. But is he willing to help them?

All the songs you remember are right here – Over the Rainbow, Follow the Yellow Brick Road, If I only Had a Brain, We’re Off To See the Wizard, Ding, Dong the Witch is Dead, and many more. You’ll be singing along at every turn in the yellow brick road.

“The Wizard of Oz” premieres August 9 at 8 PM at the Rivoli Theatre in South Fallsburg, NY and continues through August 19 with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. For tickets and more information go to the “Tickets” menu button  and get your tickets today.
