Do fairy tales really come true, or is happily ever after a lotta friggin’ work? Jeremy Dobrish’s “delightful new comedy” (The New Yorker), THE HANDLESS MAIDEN explores that question, combining a Grimm’s fairy tale with two contemporary stories. A “crafty intermingling of folklore, musical comedy and soap opera” (New York Times), it’s a genre bending tale of ‘be careful what you wish for’ that blends the mundane with the fantastical.
This staged reading is directed by Arthur Aulisi (who recently starred in River Rep’s production of the hit play ‘Art’), and features a who’s who of Sullivan County talent: Jonathan Brody, Thomas Cambridge, Clown Daddy, Carol MacAdam, Lexee McEntee, Marshall Shnider and Laura Velez (with more names tba).
