OPEN DOOR #2 at SPACE COMMANDER
Join Jillian Sweeney at Space Commander for a unique movement workshop that guides participants through the energetic imagery and pattern-building exercises she uses to choreograph and improvise her solo practice, tether breath. There is no set dance technique involved. If you’ve ever followed a guided meditation or are familiar with simple Chinese forms like qigong, this gives you a picture of how the workshop primes the pump for movement exploration. The process may run far afield from its origin point, as it’s a way-finding process, while it keeps its tether to the cycle of breath along the way.
Wear clothes you can move in and bring a paper and pen to write with.
Please plan to arrive promptly at 11- the workshop will begin right at 11:30 and go until 2pm. It is suggested that attendees stay the whole time.
