LYNDSEY ANDERSON and BREAD ARTS COLLECTIVE

God Is In Your Typewriter is a new work in development created by BREAD member artist and NACL Director of Artist Experience, Lyndsey Anderson.

BREAD Arts Collective members join Lyndsey at NACL to present the first workshop of God Is In Your Typewriter, a dramatized glimpse into the lives of the Confessional poets and novelists of 1960s America: a world of words, sex, booze, and thousands of cigarettes. Following the path of Anne Sexton in particular, the piece examines the outlier poet’s rise to fame, battle with mental illness, and life-long obsession with death.

BREAD is a multi-disciplinary arts collective dedicated to devising new work that challenges the typical and stretches the possible. BREAD boasts a decade of successful ensemble-driven work. Notable BREAD productions include Roar!, Rise & Fall (both appearing at NACL), and The Great American Casket Company.
