LISA GARTNER: COLOR TV

The Ruffed Grouse Gallery is pleased to present Lisa Gartner: Color TV, the debut exhibition of self-taught artist Lisa Gartner (b. 1970, Hawaii). Living and working in Parksville, New York, and New York City, Gartner creates remarkably convincing ceramic sculptures of everyday objects – from snack foods and toiletries to household items and personal effects. Presented individually and in larger installations, Gartner’s ceramic world transforms the familiar into something strange, funny, tender, and unexpectedly moving – playfully examining the objects, rituals, and material culture of contemporary life.
