Jan. 15 – Mar. 12
Galleries at the Narrowsburg Union
The Narrowsburg Union seeks entries for the upcoming exhibition “The Record Museum: Moved by Music,” co-curated by The Record Museum founder John Philip Hamilton and Galleries at the Union curator Krystal Grow.
“The Record Museum: Moved by Music” is a celebration of the record album and a tribute to the physical and tangible elements of a visceral, non-visual art form, and will feature a curated selection of pieces from Hamilton’s traveling collection of musical artifacts and ephemera, and original works by local artists.
Artists are encouraged to submit work in all mediums inspired by music, live or otherwise.
The exhibition will explore how music inspires visual art, from graphic design and photography to cover art, posters, flyers, painting, graffiti, collage, and more.
Opening January 15, 2022 and on display through March 12, 2022, “The Record Museum: Moved by Music” will be a group show, and artists are invited to submit 5-7 images of new, in-progress, or past pieces/projects (preferably as 72dpi jpg files). Submissions should be emailed to curator@narrowsburgunion.com , along with a bio and artist statement that includes the artist’s name, contact information (including phone number, email, and physical address), the title of the work or project, dimensions, and year created.
Artists selected to show in the exhibition should be prepared to deliver work January 6, 7, and 8 and pick up work on March 13, 14, and 15, 2022. Work must be framed and ready to hang.
Submission deadline is January 1, 2022.
The Narrowsburg Union is located at 7 Erie Street, Narrowsburg, NY. For further information: curator@narrowsburgunion.com or 845-252-3100.
