Filmmaker Elia Suleiman travels to different cities and finds unexpected parallels to his homeland of Palestine
Elia Suleiman escapes from Palestine seeking an alternative homeland, only to find that Palestine is trailing behind him. The promise of a new life turns into a comedy of errors: however far he travels, from Paris to New York. IT MUST BE HEAVEN follows Elia as he wryly observes the absurdity of militarism, capitalism, and occupation in cities from Palestine to Europe to the USA.
