Eric Baylin, Featured Poet at the Callicoon Library Open Mic Friday Nov. 7
Eric Baylin will be the featured poet for Callicoon Library’s next Open Mic on November 7 beginning at 6:00 PM. For this event he has created a spirited program that promises to inspire, amuse, tease your mind, and more. As collaboration has been his guiding theme, Eric has invited a number of amazing poets, musicians, and actors to join him in performing works they have been creating together over the past weeks and months.
They include jazz artist, Kazzrie Jaxen, who will join Eric in blending their poetry and music. Musician and songwriter, Ramona Jan will be singing and playing the handpan with poetry woven through. Percussionist Tom Deerheart will accompany. Poet and tennis player David Breitkopf will join Eric for a tennis-inspired poetic volley. Other performances include actors Matt Carpenter, Jess Beveridge and Rebekah Creshkoff. Poet, Tina Hazarian, will be reading her work along with others in a medley of poems and images devoted to cats.
The Open Mic session begins at 6:00 PM followed by the collaborative performances which will conclude by 8:00.
As this is the last Open Mic for 2025 before the season resumes next April, poets, musicians and storytellers are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and sign up for a five-minute slot. Sign-up starts at 5:45 PM.
The Callicoon library is located at 45 Lower Main St in Callicoon near the bridge to PA.
Parking is available on Main St. and across the street at the public parking lot.
