This has certainly been a summer to remember. Across New York City, people spilled into the streets and stayed there. Block parties and parades became a way of life. We’ve all been outside, learning what a civic infrastructure rooted in equity and care can feel like.

Every residency season, Denniston Hill hosts a similar mode of rhythmic world building. The borders between individual geographies and modes of artistic practice soften, replaced by familiar flows of studio time, shared meals, collective study, performances-in-progress, the river, and rituals for full moons. We see each other anew.

In 2026, we’ve welcomed writers, painters, filmmakers, chefs, sisters, partners, old friends, and whole families. And the season isn’t over! But we can feel the weather turning. It’s time to sharpen tools, gather supplies, and strategize for the road ahead. Music, dancing, delicious food, laughter, neighbors, sunshine, and a cool breeze are definitely on the “Required” list.

So, come as you are, bring your favorite people, and let’s send this summer off the way it was lived: together and unwavering with hope. We can’t wait to see you.
