Baroque Masters of Music – Sullivan County Community Chorus

The Sullivan County Community Chorus, under the direction of conductor Kevin Giroux, will present the 49th annual Winter Concert. The program, titled “Masters of Baroque Music,” will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 13 at Immaculate Conception Church, Route 42, in Woodbourne.

The chorus recently performed Dan Forrest’s “Breath of Life” at Carnegie Hall with Manhattan Choral Productions. The festival chorus included approximately 230 voices, including choristers from high schools and colleges from across the country.

The “Masters of Baroque Music” performance will feature Vivaldi’s “Gloria,” as well as works by Georg Telemann, Dietrich Buxtehude and Johann Pachelbel, with accompaniment by chamber orchestra and harpsichord. Guest soloists are from the Bard Conservatory Vocal Arts Program Studio of Met Opera mezzo Stephanie Blythe.

All are welcome. The church sanctuary is a scenic short drive from much of the tri-county area, has ample parking and is wheelchair accessible. Admission costs a suggested donation of $10 for adults and $5 for students.
