Boris Karloff finds a friend, but can she love?
We’ve all seen the hair, heard the monster’s groans, and possibly the scream, but the “Bride of Frankenstein” isn’t just another horror movie; it is intentionally campy and humorous, full of provocative ideas about identity, acceptance, and the consequences of playing God with science. Director, James Whale (brilliantly portrayed in the film “Gods and Monsters”), blew the doors off the entire genre. Though not technically a “robot” movie, the themes echo our modern discussions about artificial intelligence and human connection.

DVAA and Bar Veloce are excited to announce the new season of Retro Cinema at the Tusten Theatre. The monthly series of Friday Night flicks begins on April 26th, and runs through mid-November. This year’s theme, “Robots are our besties,” will have us all questioning… are they really?
