Development Associate

DVAA is seeking creative and innovative candidates for the regular part-time position of Development Associate.

The Development Associate supports the development goals and integral donor management of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA) in order to further our mission to advance the arts in the region through the support and encouragement of artists, innovative programs, advocacy, and alliances with arts organizations, business, and government.

Working with the Executive Director and Board leadership, the Development Associate assists in setting and achieving DVAA’s annual fundraising goals.

The Development Associate works to extend awareness and financial support for DVAA’s programs and services through direct mailing campaigns, electronic communications, in-person member/donor events, and more. They work with the Executive Director on related appeals and campaigns including but not limited to the annual year-end appeal, private foundations, and local, state, and federal grant applications.

The Development Associate coordinates with programming and marketing staff and reports to the Executive Director.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for nurturing the community, fundraising in the arts and culture sector, and an understanding of the development opportunities and challenges in our region.

They should possess a positive, “goal-minded” attitude and possess a willingness to identify creative solutions to challenges as they present themselves. They should be highly organized and have strong interpersonal skills, a willingness to learn, and be able to thrive within a small and dedicated team that shares responsibilities and supports each other’s roles.

About DVAA

Founded in 1976, DVAA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization. Located in Narrowsburg, NY, DVAA supports artists and arts organizations in the Upper Delaware Valley and throughout Sullivan County, NY.

 

DVAA presents engaging programs in the visual, performing, literary, and media arts. Through year-round exhibitions and performances in the Tusten Theatre and Krause Hall as well as popular annual community arts events including the Big Eddy Film Festival and Riverfest, DVAA provides access and exposure to the arts amidst engaged and passionate communities.

 

As the Arts Council of Sullivan County, DVAA administers two re-grant programs funded by the New York State Council on the Arts and Sullivan County and is committed to advocating on behalf of and strengthening the County’s cultural community.

Schedule

This is a three-day/24 hour a week position. Flextime is offered as some projects and goals may require concentrated blocks of time and or include early morning or after-hours time requests are to be expected to attend meetings and support events.

The position is performed on-site at DVAA’s 37 Main Street location.

DVAA maintains a virtual work environment to accommodate for interruption of the in-person workplace schedule. Some remote scheduling may be accommodated upon request.

Staff receives a paid week off between Christmas and New Year’s Day and two paid sick days. DVAA maintains a virtual work environment to accommodate for interruption of in-person workplace.
