WCAA Artists reception & Opening “Wave Patterns – Art by Paul Plumadore” and “Atmosphere – Art by Deborah Hussung”

The Wayne County Arts Alliance is excited to announce two new exhibitions, “Wave Patterns – Art by Paul Plumadore” and “Atmosphere – Art by Deborah Hussung”, running August 28, 2025, through October 4, 2025 at the WCAA Gallery at 959 Main Street, Honesdale, PA. 18431. Artists reception – Friday, August 29, from 5pm till 8pm.

“Wave Patterns”, a collection of mostly new work by collage artist, Paul Plumadore, will hang in the “Main Gallery” on the first floor, and highlights Plumadore’s masterful paper montage technique in an arc of work that began in 2020 and continues today: exploring movement, repetition, and color while drawing from found, recognizable and imagined imagery, the Wave Patterns series are created utilizing multiple copies of the same or similar images to create energized works that distort space and time. The source material
varies from antique printed matter, copies of famous paintings, and collaborations with contemporary photographers. All three approaches will be presented at the WCAA. Paul Plumadore has been making paper montage art since 1975. His work has graced Dell Books, Avon Books, RCA Records, Psychology Today, The New York Times, and many others. He has taught Dance at NYU’s School of the Arts, and performed with The Paul Taylor Dance Company. He has appeared in over 80 gallery shows including The Northeastern Biennial, “Art of the State” at the State Museum of PA and “Exposure” at Ceres Gallery, Chelsea, NYC. His solo shows include The Delaware Valley Arts Alliance in Narrowsburg, NY, The Mahady Gallery at Marywood University in Scranton, PA, and ArtWRKD in Newtown PA.

“Atmosphere”, a collection of oil, gouache, and acrylic paintings, graphite, colored pencil drawings, and prints by Lake Ariel artist Deborah Hussung, will hang in the “Members Gallery” on the second floor, and combines intense color, dramatic light, and imagined subject matter, creating narrative work that suggests other worlds inside our world.  Hussung writes: “I like to push the boundaries of convention.  My artwork is experimental, capricious, and quirky.  I get lost in the details and invite you to do the same.” Hussung’s work has been exhibited in a variety of area galleries and exhibitions including: the 2022 “Great Wall of Honesdale”, “Paint the Town Hawley” in 2024, The WCAA Gallery’s “Line of Sight” Exhibition in 2024, B. Madigan’s Jewelry and Gifts Solo Show in 2025, and she was the featured artist in the Lake Wallenpaupack Neighbors Magazine, May 2025 issue.
