DESCRIPTION:HONESDALE – On Sunday, September 24th, The Cooperage Project welcomes back the Weekend of Chamber Music to present Mysteries of Identity, a recital by Caroline Stinson and Ieva Jokubaviciute. A musical exploration of how we define ourselves – culturally, personally, and spiritually – Mysteries of Identity brings together a wide range of compositional voices in search of their own expressive “I am”. With music by Bridge, Falla, Hannah Kendall, Janáček, Schumann, Vaughan-Williams, Vierne, and Andrew Waggoner, the program offers a kaleidoscopic view of the ways in which the soul becomes music, giving us a sense of both person and place.\nLithuanian pianist Ieva Jokubaviciute’s powerfully and intricately crafted performances have earned her critical acclaim throughout North America and Europe. Her ability to communicate the essential substance of a work has led critics to describe her as possessing ‘razor-sharp intelligence and wit’ and ‘subtle, complex, almost impossibly detailed and riveting in every way’ (The Washington Post).\nCellist Caroline Stinson is a native of Canada and has made her career across North America and Europe as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician in traditional, 20th century, and contemporary repertoire.\nWhen flutist Judith Pearce and a few of her friends set out in rural New York to play a concert just for fun one summer weekend in 1994, they planted a seed that would eventually become a successful non-profit music organization, the Weekend of Chamber Music.\nWeekend Of Chamber Music\nSunday, September 24th | 4pm\n$20 advance / $25 at the door\nAll ages\nThe Cooperage Project\n1030 Main St. Honesdale, PA\n
